 Customs Notification No. 48/2004 (NT) DATE 31/03/2004
Amendments in the Special Economic Zones (Customs Procedures) Regulations, 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 157, read with sub-section (2) of section 76C of the Customs Act, 1962 (52of 1962), the Board hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Special Economic Zones (Customs Procedures) Regulations, 2003, namely:-

1. (1) These regulations may be called the Special Economic Zones (Customs Procedures) (Amendment) Regulations, 2004.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Special Economic Zones (Customs Procedures) Regulations, 2003, in regulation 1, in sub-regulation (3), for the figures, letters and words “1st day of April , 2004”, the figures, letters and words “ 1st day of May,2004 ” shall be substituted.

Govt postpones implementation of SEZ Scheme


In exercise of the powers conferred by section 76A of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.

          G.S.R.239  (E).-  In exercise of the powers conferred by section 126 of the Finance Act, 2002 (20 of 2002), the Central Government hereby amends the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of  Revenue), No. 43/2003-CUSTOMS (N.T) dated the 22nd July, 2003, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub-section (i) vide G.S.R 561(E) dated the 22nd July, 2003, namely:-   

     In the said notification, for the figures, letters and words “1st  day of April, 2004 ”, the figures, letters and words “  1st day of May,2004   ”  shall be substituted.

NOTIFICATION  No.  47  /2004-CUSTOMS (N.T.) dated 31.3.2004

          G.S.R.240  (E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)  of section 156, read with Chapter XA of the Customs  Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, hereby makes the following rules to amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2003, namely:-

1.     (1)  These rules  may be called the  Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2004.

         (2)  They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.  In the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2003, in rule 1, in sub-rule (2), for the figures, letters and words “1st  day of April, 2004 ”, the figures, letters and words “ 1st day of  May,2004  ” shall be substituted.
