DGFT PUBLIC NOTICE   59 (RE: 03) /2002-2007 dated 12.4.2004
Amendments and additions in DEPB rate schedule

 

            In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007 and paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.I) the Director General of Foreign Trade, hereby makes the following addition/correction/amendment in the book titled “Schedule of DEPB rates” :-

 

I. Product Group : Engineering                                                         Product Code : 61

 

 

i)                    The DEPB rate of entry at Sr. No. 117 revised to 12%.

 

ii)                   The description of  entry at Sr. No. 431 amended to read as “Fabricated Steel Hardware/Structure/Articles not elsewhere specified made out of MS HR/CR Plates Sheets/Strips/wide Coil of relevant grade type”.

 

iii)                 The DEPB rate of entry at Sr.No. 438 revised to 11%.

 

iv)                 The Value Cap of  Rs. 55/- Kg imposed  against  entry at Sr.No. 453.

 

v)                  The DEPB rate of entry at Sr.No. 574 revised to 13% and  Value Cap revised to Rs.4,000/- /Piece

 

vi)                 The description of entry at Sr.No. 576 amended to read as “Earth Moving Wheel Components, namely, Bead Seat Ring, Gutter Band Fixed Flange & Lock Ring”.

 

vii)               The description of entry at Sr.No. 577 amended to read as “Earth Moving Wheel Components, namely, Detachable Flange /Loose Flange Center Band Disc & Side Ring”.

 

viii)              The Column 4 of the entry at Sr.No. 588 – adhoc is corrected to read as “Rs. 1200/Pc. valid for 6 months from the date 4.2.2004 applicable to M/s. Tecumesh Products India Pvt. Ltd., Ballabhgarh & M/s. BPL Engineering Ltd., Hyderabad, only”.

 

ix)                 After the existing entry  at Sr.No.592 , the following new entry is inserted :-

The description of the entry at Sr.No. 82 amended to read as “Acrylic Blanket (with acrylic content 85% or more by weight)”

 

V   General instructions for DEPB Rates

 

After the existing Sub-  Para (iii) of Para 11 ,  the  following Sub-Para (iv) is added :

 

“ However, in case of export of blended textile product, if the content of one type of item is more than 95%, the DEPB rate of the blended item would carry the rate of that particular export item.  However, where no constituent is 95% or more by weight of the blend, DEPB rate would be of product with the lowest of the rates of the product of the constituent (subject to the provisions contained in General Instruction No. 7 as stated above).  For example, in made-ups of blend of  cotton/Man Made Filament Yarn, the rate applicable would be that of made ups of the constituent with the lowest rate”.

 

This issues in Public Interest.
