Amendments in the CUS NTF NO. 21/2002 dated 01/03/2002 (Exemption Notification -
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG))
G.S.R. (E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section
25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being
satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the
following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in
the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 21/2002-Customs, dated the
1st March, 2002, published in the Gazette of India, vide number G.S.R 118(E),
dated the 1st March, 2002, namely:-
In the said notification,-
(A) in the opening paragraph, in the proviso, after clause (d), the following
clause shall be inserted, namely:-
(e) the goods specified against serial No. 77A of the said Table on or after
the 1st day of October, 2010.
(B) in the Table,-
(i) against S.No.30, in column (3), in item (A) and item (B), for the words All
goods, the words All goods (except crude palm oil) shall be substituted;
(ii) after S.No.57 and entries relating thereto, the following shall be
inserted, namely:-

Power Private Limited for their power project at Dabhol Explanation.- For the purpose of this exemption, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility project includes goods for any or all series of operations starting with unloading of LNG from specialized vessels, their subsequent transfer to LNG storage tanks and finishing with re-gasification of the LNG before feeding the natural gas to the Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited for the purpose of generating power at their power project at Dabhol |

(C) In the Annexure, after Condition No. 98, the following shall be inserted,
namely:-

| 99. | The LNG facility is certified by an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Power as being an integral part of the said power project of M/s Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited at Dabhol. |
2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 2005.
