Subject :     Clearance of goods form EOU/ EPZ/EHTP / STP units through courier.

        I am directed to refer to Board's Circular No. 22/98- Cus dated the 27th March, 1998 issued from F.No. 305/60/98 - FTT allowing EOU/ EPZ / EHTP / STP units (hereinafter referred to as the said units) to send samples for export through courier.

2.    The Hon'ble Commerce Minister in the Lok Sabha on the 5th August, 1998, had announced certain measures for boosting India's exports. One of the measures announced by the Hon'ble Minister was that the said units may be allowed to export their goods through courier. Keeping in view the above commitment of the Lok Sabha, it has been decided that the said units may be allowed to export their goods through Authorised Courier agencies and the procedure for export of samples through courier stated in the above said circular (No. 22/98) may be followed in this case also.
