Subject : Investigations pertaining to illegal import of Vitamins Under Foreign Trade (Development & Regulations), Act 1992.
Sir,
Reports have been received in the D.G.F.T. (Hqrs) that import of Vitamins/ Vitamin Mixes continue to take place as per the norms prevalent prior to 1.4..97 even though norms for per - mix vitamins have been revised w.e.f. 1-4-97. There are complaints that certain Regional Licensing Authorities have issued/ revised/ allowed pro rata enhancement or multiple revalidation so as to allow higher quantities of such items against advance licences based on the pre-revised norms.
You are hereby advised to stop clearance of all such consignments forthwith and freeze operation of such licences and forward those licences to DGFT (Hqrs) for examination and scrutiny at the earliest. Quantities of premixed vitamins only to the extent of 27 Kg. Per MT of export should be allowed against these licences until further orders.
This issues with the approval of D.G.F.T.
