Govt hikes Central Excise abatement from 40% to 42.5%
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and sub- section (2)
of section 4A of Central Excise Act 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, on
being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby
makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of
India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 2/2005-Central
Excise (N.T.), dated the 7th January, 2005 , which was published in the Gazette
of India Extraordinary, vide G.S.R. 10 (E), dated the 7th January, 2005 ,
namely:-
In the said notification, in the Table,-
(1) against Sl.No. 1, for the entry in column (4), the entry " 42.5%" shall be
substituted; and
(2) against Sl.No. 2, for the entry in column (4), the entry " 42.5%" shall be
substituted.
2. This notification will come into force on the 1 st day of February, 2007.
