Notification No.13/2001-Central Excise (N.T.)

            In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of Explanation 2 to the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Central Excise Act, 1944(1 of 1944), read with clause (8) of rule 2 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby specifies SEEPZ Special Economic Zone, Mumbai in the State of Maharashtra as a "free trade zone".

Explanation.- For the purpose of this notification, "SEEPZ Special Economic Zone" means SEEPZ Special Economic Zone at Mumbai comprising the places bearing plot number F.1 in the erstwhile Marel Industrial Area of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation within the village limits of Parjapur and Vyaravli, taluka Andheri, and now in the Registration sub-district and district of Mumbai and Mumbai suburban containing by admeasurement 3,75,013 square meters or thereabout and bounded –

on or towards the North, by road and Aarey Milk Colony Land;
on or towards the South, by road;
on or towards the East, by pipeline and Aarey Milk Colony Land; and
on or towards the West, by road
