Subject: Exports - furnishing of examination report- reg.

            I am directed to refer to Chapters 7 & 8, relating to exports, of Central Excise Manual, issued by the Board on 1st September 2001 and to say that Board vide Circular No. 6/2002 – Cus dated 23rd January 2002(issued from F.No.450/126/98 Cus.IV) has prescribed that in the case of export goods which are examined by Central Excise/Customs officers and sealed and stuffed under their supervision at a factory or in an approved warehouse, the consignments shall be accompanied by an Examination Report in the form annexed to the said Circular. The details of the Examination Report would be captured in the system at the time of registration of export goods.

2.            Accordingly, Board directs that the above instruction shall be strictly followed and whenever Central Excise Officers examine and seal the export goods at a factory or a warehouse, the duly completed Examination Report must accompany the export goods to the port/airport of export.

3.            The field formations may suitably be informed and instructed for compliance.

4.            Receipt of this Circular may please be acknowledged.
