NOTIFICATION No. 38/2004-CUSTOMS dated 24.2.2004
Reduction in Customs Duties on Steel items

 

G.S.R.      (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 21/2002-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2002, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table,

(i)            against S. No. 71, for the entry in column (4), the entry “5%” shall be substituted;

(ii)           after S. No. 190 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted, namely:-

 (iii)         against S. No. 197, for the entry in column (4), the entry “10%” shall be substituted;

 (iv)         against S. No. 207, for the entry in column (3), the following entry shall be substituted, namely:-

“All goods, other than the following:-

(i) goods falling under the heading 7202;

(ii) goods mentioned against S. Nos. 190A, 190B, 197, 198, 200 or 202 above; and

(iii) seconds and defectives of goods falling under Chapter 72”.
