 NOTIFICATION No.  15 /2004-CUSTOMS dated 8.1.2004
Specifies water supply projects for agricultural and industrial use, under project import regulations

G.S.R.              (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-item (6) of heading 9801 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51  of  1975), the Central Government, having regard to the economic development of the country, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue),  No. 42/96-Customs, dated the 23^rd July,  1996,  namely:-

In the said notification, after serial number 26 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and the entries shall be inserted, namely:-

“26A. Water Supply Projects

Explanation.- Water Supply Project includes a plant for desalination, demineralization or purification of water or for carrying out any similar process or processes intended to make the water fit for agricultural or industrial use.”.

2.         This notification shall come into force on the 9^th day of January, 2004.
