NOTIFICATION No. 9/2004-CUSTOMS dated 8.1.2004

i)

Reduces customs duty on specified raw materials of electronic industry from 5% to Nil.
ii)

Reduces duty on four specified raw materials of electronic industry from 15% to 5%

               

G.S.R.         (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 25/99-Customs, dated the 28th February, 1999, namely:-

 

  In the said notification,-

 

(A) in the opening paragraph,-

for the portion beginning with the words “amount calculated at the rate of -,” and ending with the words and letter “specified in List C:”, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“amount calculated at the rate of,-

(a) Nil in the case of the imported goods specified in List A; and

       (b) 5% ad valorem in the case the imported goods specified in List B:”;

 

 (B) in the TABLE,- 

             (i)      In LIST A, after S. No. 168 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted, namely:-
