Customs Circular No. 33/2003 dated 24.4.2003
Administrative control over ICDs /CFSs - reg.
I am directed to say that requests have been received for
framing a policy on the administrative control of ICDs/CFSs .
2. The matter has been examined by the Board. It has been decided that the
administrative control of ICDs/CFSs would be with the territorial Commissioners
of Customs. However, where an ICD/CFS does not fall within the territorial
jurisdiction of any Commissioner of Customs, the territorial Commissioner of
Central Excise will have administrative control over it.
1. As regards the ICD located at Rewari and Garhi Harsaru Junction, are
concerned these will now fall under the Commissioner of Central Excise,
Delhi-III (Gurgoan), ICD at Ballabgarh will fall under Commissioner of Central
Excise, Delhi-IV (Faridabad) and ICD at Panipat will fall under Commissioner of
Central Excise, Rohtak. Notification No.27 /2003-Customs(NT), dated the 23rd
April, 2003 may be referred in this regard.
2. These instructions may be brought to the notice of all concerned by way of
issuance of suitable
Public Notices/Standing Orders.
3. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of these instructions may be
brought to the notice of the Board.
