Duty on iron ores and concentrates increased from 5% to 10%
G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section
25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, on being
satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the
following further amendment in the Notification No. 79/2008-Customs, dated the
13th June, 2008, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II,
Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 458(E), namely :-
In the said notification, for the figures and words “5% ad valorem”, the figures
and words “10% ad valorem” shall be substituted.

Note. - The principal notification No. 79/2008-Customs, dated the 13th June,
2008 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 458(E), dated the 13th June, 2008 and was
last amended vide notification No. 130/2008, dated the 7th December, 2008, which
was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 844(E) of the same date.
