Amendments in the NTF. NO. 22/2008, DT. 03/07/2008 regarding ban on
export of Maize
S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of
1992) read with Para 1.3 and 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the
Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the Notification
No.22 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008, read with Notification No.24
(RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 18th July, 2008 and Notification No.25
(RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 21st July, 2008 regarding ban on export of maize:-
2. With immediate effect, following is added after Para 3 of Notification No.22
(RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008:-
“3.1 Ban on export of maize shall not be applicable to export of 25000 MTs of
maize to be exported by M/s Emmsons International, New Delhi under United
Nations’ World Food Programme to Kenya, Somalia and Burundi and is meant for
United Nations’ humanitarian relief operations in these countries.”
