Curbs on
sugar exports : DGFT clarifies normal exports obligation period under advance
licence to be extended by period of prohibition
S.O.(E) – In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign
Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3
and Para 2.1 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009 (as amended from time to time),
the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Paragraph 3
of Notification No.18 (RE-2006)/2004-2009 dated 4.7.2006:-
At the end of Paragraph 3, the following sentence be added :
“The period for discharge of export obligation against advance licences shall be
extended by the period of the prohibition imposed, provided the export
obligation period did not expire prior to the imposition of export restriction.”
