Attention is invited to the contents of Public Notice No.24 and 31
dated 25th July,2000 and Ist September,2000 respectively which
inter-alia laid down that exporters have to file applications for exports
under duty exemption scheme electronically for which UN location codes as
specified in the Handbook of Procedure is an essential input. Representations
have been received from various exporters pointing out their inability to file
applications due to non availability of UN location codes for certain Sea
ports/Air Ports/ICDs
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of
the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India
extraordinary, Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following
amendments in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.I) (RE-2000), 1997-2002.
The note appearing below paragraph 7.19 shall be
substituted by the following:
Note : The UN location codes in respect of the ports mentioned above are given at S.No.11 in Appendix 1 of the Handbook. However, for the sea ports/Air ports/ICDs where UN location codes are not available the applicants may file their application using “ 99 – Miscellaneous” as code . It shall be the responsibility of the licensing authority concerned to indicate the actual port at the time of issue of Licence.
